  • Rev. Arthur Puotinen

    Interim Pastor

    Pastor Art Puotinen has ministered full-time in three ELCA congregations in Illinois and Michigan and as part-time interim in three ELCA congregations in the Metro Chicago Synod. He has served as a professor and administrator at four ELCA Lutheran colleges and is a published writer. He iives in Elgin, Illinois with his wife Carol. They have seven grown children and fifteen grandchildren.

  • Kim Puchalski

    Administrative Assistant

    Kim and her husband Mark have been long-time members of Lord of Life. They have two grown daughters and are Schaumburg residents.

  • Susan Dennis

    Director of Choirs

    Susan enjoys rehearsing the choir and chimes in preparation for Sunday worship services at Lord of Life. She also teaches voice at Elmhurst College and Harper College, and is the Music Director of the Elgin Opera Summer Music Festival’s “Broadway Nights.” Susan is an active soloist, equally at home with classical music and the Broadway repertoire. She has been a featured soprano soloist with the Symphonic Pops Orchestra of Chicago, the Navy Pier Pops Orchestra, the New Millennium Orchestra, and the Opening Night Broadway Review Troupe. Susan holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Eastern Illinois University and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Northwestern University.

  • Robert Lind


    Robert Lind attended North Park College and the American Conservatory of Music, majoring in organ, composition, and music theory. At the age of 20 he studied composition with Leo Sowerby, and two years later succeeded his mentor as organist and choirmaster at the Cathedral of St. James, Chicago. After serving in the U.S. Army, Bob worked in the publishing world for 34 years and continued to play and conduct in various churches in the Chicago area. He joined the Lord of Life staff in September 2009. Over the past several decades he has played recitals, presented organ repertory workshops, and composed extensively for the church. At this time, over 130 of his organ works and a number of anthems and songs have been published.

  • Tanya Ybanez

    Sunday School Supervisor

    Tanya graduated from Elgin Community College in 2010 with an associate degree as a human services generalist. She works for Children’s Home + Aid, where she helps protect children at risk by making sure that they are kept safe. Tanya also works with special needs children at Clearbrook, and serves as a hospital advocate for domestic violence and sexual assault victims through the Community Crisis Center of Elgin.
